Lesson 3- mind mapping

Mind mapping- introduced by Tony Buzan is a great tool for idea generation and brainstorming. It enhance both sides of the human brain and widely used in taking notes, research or generating new ideas. A creative Mind Map is able to stimulate and create interest to the individual and also to the viewer.

A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing.

The elements of a given mind map are arranged intuitively according to the importance of the concepts, and are classified into groupings, branches, or areas, with the goal of representing semantic or other connections between portions of information. Mind maps may also aid recall of existing memories.

By presenting ideas in a radial, graphical, non-linear manner, mind maps encourage a brainstorming approach to planning and organizational tasks. Though the branches of a mindmap represent hierarchical tree structures, their radial arrangement disrupts the prioritizing of concepts typically associated with hierarchies presented with more linear visual cues. This orientation towards brainstorming encourages users to enumerate and connect concepts without a tendency to begin within a particular conceptual framework.

The mind map can be contrasted with the similar idea of concept mapping. The former is based on radial hierarchies and tree structures denoting relationships with a central governing concept, whereas concept maps are based on connections between concepts in more diverse patterns.

In my point of view, mind mapping is the one creative way to generate an idea and helps to learn or remember something new. I sometimes used this method to remember and it always creates the best results to the way of learning. It makes me easier to get an information and have a connection between all the information. It's normally start from center and mostly people will used mind map in different ways. Mind mapping is divided into two:- logical and associative.

Lesson 2- Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention

The creative person is one who generates new ideas while the creative process is how these new ideas, solutions, and inventions are produced. It is said that, we are all naturally creative. From poetry to building a house, from computer programming to humor, from music to science, creativity is manifested in a variety of different ways. The aim is to understand the complexity of creativity and to comprehend its mystery through a structured program of learning.

Different between creativity and innovation

Creativity is typically used to refer to the act of producing new ideas, approaches or actions, while innovation is the process of both generating and applying such creative ideas in some specific context
Therefore, the term innovation is often used to refer to the entire process by which an organization generates creative new ideas and converts them into novel, useful and viable commercial products, services, and business practices, while the term creativity is reserved to apply specifically to the generation of novel ideas by individuals or groups, as a necessary step within the innovation process.

Defining creativity

Creativity is a mental and social process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts. An alternative conception of creativness is that it is simply the act of making something new.

From a scientific point of view, the products of creative thought (sometimes referred to as divergent thought) are usually considered to have both originality and appropriateness.


Another adequate definition of creativity is that it is an "assumptions-breaking process." Creative ideas are often generated when one discards preconceived assumptions and attempts a new approach or method that might seem to others unthinkable.

In my own opinion, creativity is define as an idea towards the nature. The idea that someone that can generate by looking to the nature and from the source that they think relevant to their thought. Normally, this credibility can be build and everyone has their own creativity.

Lesson 1: myself from my friend's point of view

The objective of this lesson is :

To develop the ability to identify an issue or topic and from that carry out appropriate research, analysis and ide synthesis that will result in a unique personal statement.ME AND SHEL

I choose butterfly to shel because for me shel is very beautiful like a butterfly.. she was so independent and cheerful.. she also so sporting and i respect her so much....


This is what my friend represent me... she said i was just like a flower because i was so sweet and cheerful just like a flower... she knows me very well because farah and me are best friend.. we have known each other almost 2 years... once we got this task, we dont have to spend a lot of time to find the correct image for each other... we are just like a butterfly and flower.. why i say like that, because we have to rely on each other.. butterfly will fly to flower to get honey. and once the butterfly eat the honey, the flower will be more beatiful... that is what the sncronization in our relationship.....
